Managing risk properly became essential, both for the Credit Unions themselves and for the auditors and regulators overseeing them.<\/p>\n        <p>The Credit Union Development Association (CUDA) stepped in and approached Target Integration to help build a consistent, central way for Credit Unions to manage risk and demonstrate compliance.<\/p>\n      <\/section>\n\n      <section>\n        <h3>The challenge<\/h3>\n        <p>Before the platform was introduced, risk management across Credit Unions was fragmented:<\/p>\n        <ul class=\"ti-cs__list\">\n          <li><strong>Manual or missing processes:<\/strong> risk management was either non-existent or handled manually, which was time-consuming and prone to error<\/li>\n          <li><strong>No common standard:<\/strong> every Credit Union used a different method to manage and record risk, so auditors and regulators had to work through a different process each time<\/li>\n          <li><strong>Duplicated effort:<\/strong> each Credit Union built its own risk and control libraries from scratch<\/li>\n          <li><strong>One size didn&#8217;t fit all:<\/strong> not every risk applied to every organisation, so any system had to adapt to each Credit Union&#8217;s needs<\/li>\n        <\/ul>\n      <\/section>\n\n      <section>\n        <h3>The solution<\/h3>\n        <p>Target Integration developed the Credit Union Support Platform (CUSP) for CUDA. Alongside learning, communication and operational support, CUSP includes a full risk management system built around a shared standard that each Credit Union can tailor.<\/p>\n        <div class=\"ti-cs__caps\">\n          <div class=\"ti-cs__cap\"><strong>Central risk and control libraries<\/strong><span>A shared library, researched centrally by CUDA and aligned with Central Bank of Ireland guidelines.<\/span><\/div>\n          <div class=\"ti-cs__cap\"><strong>Tailored risk profiles<\/strong><span>Each Credit Union defines the risks that apply to it and its own risk appetite.<\/span><\/div>\n          <div class=\"ti-cs__cap\"><strong>Linked controls<\/strong><span>Relevant controls are mapped to each risk, with their performance tracked.<\/span><\/div>\n          <div class=\"ti-cs__cap\"><strong>Risk register and assessments<\/strong><span>Control performance is recorded as risk assessments and reviewed periodically.<\/span><\/div>\n          <div class=\"ti-cs__cap\"><strong>Full audit history<\/strong><span>A complete record of improvements over time, ready for auditors and regulators.<\/span><\/div>\n          <div class=\"ti-cs__cap\"><strong>Consistent reporting<\/strong><span>One common structure across organisations makes oversight faster and simpler.<\/span><\/div>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/section>\n\n      <section>\n        <h3>The outcome<\/h3>\n        <p>Target Integration delivered the system on time and within budget.
