I have problem with characters when syncing Vtiger and Mail Chimp. Scandic characters (ä, ö) are changed in Mail Chimp list when syncing. If I for example have ä-letter in Accounts name (Vtiger), it will show like this in Mail Chimp aftger syncing:
ä

Something to do character set (ISO-8859-1 or UTF-8 )?

This is interesting janne. We haven't tested data with Scandic characters. Is your vTiger database in UTF8 format?

Have you ever stored information in MailChimp with Scandic characters?
